HAUNTED HOUSE REVIEWS

Beyond escape rooms, our team fully embraces the holiday spirit throughout the year. We will highlight different haunted houses we visit with reviews designed differently than our escape rooms.

PEMBERTON HAUNTED ACRES:

REVIEW:

A fantastic trail-based haunt that incorporates Pemberton's ability to spin a good story and create some amazing immersion.

Two words: Swamp Scene

It was amazing. What wonderful use of smart technology and sensible construction.

Do not miss your chance to find Big Foot before he finds you.

REVIEW:

Their newest addition to the location and it's a fantastic experience.

The immersion and care to detail is fantastic and the room flow feels very much like a hotel.

I love the logic used as well; room flow, actor roles and placements - love it.

Also I enjoy an experience that makes strong use of silence and anticipation to amp the louder moments. They truly understand the psychology of a scare and this room shows it.

REVIEW:

There is a reason this is the anchor of Pemberton's Haunted Acres.

Great experience. They take great care to ensure your party gets it's own experience - no conga lines.

Wonderful immersion, some truly unique scares with a mix of quiet and chaos.

Highly recommend this one.

REVIEW:

Such a cool room and original experience.

This had such great storytelling, set pieces and unique architecture used throughout the room.

Do not miss out on this one.

It has a few rooms that are harder to walk through, they offer the ability to skip those rooms and you won't be separated from your party (if that is a concern).

Great room and limited clowns so even if clows aren't your thing - there are not a lot here.

Don't skip this one.

REVIEW:

What an awesome use of an IP.

If you like the movie series this lovingly recreated signature moments from the first three movies.

Of the IP rooms based on a movie, this was probably my favorite in terms of wait time to experience. Sinners was better but 120 minutes was excessive for that room.

Definitely worth your time.

REVIEW:

An awesome movie that was a pretty cool room.

Hearing early reviews I did not have high hopes for this one but I can say they did a good job of making a great experience that was fun whether you saw the movie or not.

Now, is it 120 wait time fun? No. But it's worth 60-75 minutes of your time if you do not have quicker access.

REVIEW:

This is one of the top rooms this year and a wonderful tribute to the Price of Darkness.

You get to see his catalogue brought to life in such unique ways.

The set pieces here are fantastic.

What made it cooler is the group in front of me basically ran through so we had nice separation so we got to really take it in.

Do not miss this one.

REVIEW:

The room was short and uneventful. Good casting of actors in the mix which was cool to see.

It just follows season 5.

Very skippable as this was, at best, a five-seven minute walk through.

REVIEW:

Fantastic, original story and the execution was chef's kiss good.

The costumes were so good it was hard to tell actors from the set.

My only criticism is some of the rooms had so much lighting and fx going on; it was hard to tell what was occurring.

Certainly one of the best rooms this year; this is a cannot miss for your trip.

REVIEW:

My favorite room from HHN this year.

Great mix of storytelling, the rooms all felt logical and there was a lovely mix of horror and humor which is not easy to blend together well.

I also wanted to take a lot of the sets home with me for home decor as I could use a cool lounge with a dancing wolfman.

Don't sit back on this one, this is easily my favorite haunt this year.

REVIEW:

This was a fun one.

I really enjoyed the set dressing and the flow of the story and little pieces they added throughout the adventure.

I wish I did not have the biggest group of ... what word to use to describe a group who was pointing out every actor and act like a hard ass for this friends?

Whatever word is that; this was my experience.

REVIEW:

Credit to the actors and make-up/design team and I love the originality but this was honestly a forgettable room.

There were two nice set pieces but two set pieces does not a room make.

Skippable if you are short on time.

What made this wonderful was the group in front me that had someone who just was having an awesome time getting scared - make this room a lot more fun.

REVIEW:

The connection to the series is very authentic and the actors were wonderful.

This is more of an issue with a property calling it self Evil Dead with no Ash.

No Ash = no Evil Dead

The room, just became a repetition of actors in a house setting. Nice end of the room for the last scene but the walk there was monotonous.
