crazy train: The ballad of skeemin' plotz

What an incredible room.

This was one of the first handful of rooms we ever played and at some point I need to replay this one to better soak in the experience because the theming and immersion is just stellar for this room.

Beyond climbing aboard the Crazy Train to be transformed in story and experience into a period-piece cartoon with an appropriate antagonist, this was just a fun experience.

 

I talked theme and immersion but lets get under the hood of this train ... okay, maybe a bad analogy but lets talk about the other fundamentals - the game play. For a train where it's pretty much a guarantee the rooms are gonna be train cars, this room offered a great variety of puzzles, fantastic mapping and offered a build of the story which amped up the story tension as you progressed the game play - superb blend of story and game play.

There is a trope I am not a fan of for vehicle-based rooms and I can promise this room avoids the go-fetch or go-press approach to puzzles which really speaks to the rooms originality and ability to make for an unforgettable experience. 

 

This is, in my opinion, is their strongest room and is a perfect room for a small group or a fun afternoon for the family. Super Bomb Squad and Capt Spooky are also fantastic rooms.

 

This might be a bit older of a room but you will not find it's match in the area ... we tried; you won't.

I highly recommend this room; also a good room if you have some new to escape room players just for the immersion alone. The footprint lends itself to three to five people so get a crew and enjoy being transported to a cartoon world for the afternoon.
