This room was on my radar for about six months prior to getting to play this room.
The set-up is like a plot to a 1990's horror movie, someone makes two escape rooms in their basement in the middle of the country in North Carolina. What could go wrong?
This room exceeds the reputation and mine was lofty. Macabre and magic is my niche for escape rooms and I love Poe's work so my expectations were through the roof and the room more than delivered.
The narrative, the flow, the immersion, the attention to details <chef's kiss good>. If a Disney Imagineer made an escape room, it might be this good ... maybe.
The room was so good at one point we slowed down to not finish. We had the last piece ready to set and just stopped to soak in the room.
This is currently the only room to get an 11/10 stars from our scale and it earned all 11 of those stars.
Truly a remarkable room.

Suggest to grab a bit before your game time. Some nearby gas stations. The drive out to the location is wonderful.
