a not so fairytale ending

Story time first.

 

We took a trip in the late spring to hit some rooms in the Charlotte area and were looking to add a room on the way up and Lock, Clock and Peril came up as a recommendation for ... well ... everyone. 

 

Thank the escape room gods it did.

 

As with all things, we stopped to play just this room and ended up playing two more before we played this one and spoiler alert, we cannot wait to return to play the rooms we didn't play this visit.

 

This room - what an amazing room in a location that is just fantastic.

Everything here is chef's kiss good. Looking at the badges the room earned, we literally ran out of room. 

 

What was truly cool to learn is that everything here was hand created by the owners. Truly wonderful craftsmanship and story tellers and such humble, warm people. The narrative of the room blended seamlessly throughout each and every element.

Great variety of puzzles and tasks, everything directly tied to the narrative and such wonderful little moments of nuance woven throughout the experience. Some first-time elements we've experiences in this room today.

One other small anecdote that really captures my review in a nutshell, I can't spoil it, but I have a pet-peeve about one type of escape room puzzle. I mentioned it in passing in a conversation with the owner, then proceeded to play this room which had the type of puzzle but masterfully made it work - I was laughing and smiling the whole time because that is what really set this room apart, the intentional and thoughtful nature of every little detail.

Overall, a rreat room for the whole family and a nice starter room if you are trying to get your children in on the fun or even for that team building event for work.

 

By no means easy, but concepts and elements they can easily understand and enjoy.
