What a fun and completely disarming room.

So we booked a trip to hit multiple rooms throughout Charlotte this past summer and Masterpiece was not on our original radar. Thank god we added it and ended up playing three more rooms after this first one.

​

The location is delightful and their style of narrative and mapping/puzzles really hits the mark with us. 

​

As I mentioned this was the first room we did as we had scarier rooms booked for the evening so we used this as a "starter" for the day and we were just blown away with how wonderful this room was to experience. 

​

The theming, the flow, the building narrative, the twists and turns - all just fantastic. 

​

This room featured one of the most innovative uses of an actor and had some really glorious subtle elements that connected the game play and story together perfectly. 

​

I have to mention as well there were a few elements that were part of the experience designed to just make it "easier" for the player. Not making the puzzle earlier but some quality of life elements found in this room and we discovered similar elements added to the other rooms we played. What I love about that aspect is that the group here are player-first. It not only shows in their stories but how they let players experience the room.

This might not be their best known game but definitely play this one. It's a nice palate cleanser after Ghastly (play Ghastly and absolutely play Wrecked). 

​
